Yungaburra Quarry

Yungaburra Quarry is situated on the outskirts of Yungaburra in the Atherton Tableland area of Far North Queensland.

The quarry provides a rich source of Quincan (scoria) used for both domestic and commercial use in a variety of forms.  Quincan is loved by orchid and bromeliad growers due to its drainage quality as well as being used by local Shires in road building and landscaping.

The types of quincan found at Yungaburra Quarry are as diverse as the attractions in the surrounding area of the Atherton Tablelands. Best known for its natural beauty, the area showcases some of the most beautiful attractions including natural wonders such as the twin craters, Lakes Eacham & Barrine, Lake Tinaroo, the Curtain Fig Tree as well as a gourmet food and wine trail that highlights the amazing array of produce from the area.
